Barcelona Supercomputing Center

2008

Barcelona

The new Barcelona Supercomputing Center was conceived through a precise symbiosis between an existing building —the Can Girona coach houses— and a newly created volume.

The idea was based on creating a building that was “PRESENT” while also “SHARING” the site: a volume that would interact with the existing public space, opening it up and structuring it, while enhancing the architectural ensemble of the site without renouncing its landscape context.
