The intervention at Casa Golferichs aims to refurbish, renovate and adapt the interior spaces of the Xalet so they can be fully integrated into the Civic Centre, while respecting the heritage value of the building, which is listed as a Local Cultural Heritage Asset.
The project improves accessibility, building services and the functionality of the different spaces. On the ground floor, the temporary ramp is replaced with a new accessible entrance, the restrooms are remodelled, original elements are recovered and a new underfloor climate-control system is introduced, seeking to preserve as much as possible the original character of the rooms.
On the upper floors, uses are reorganised, available spaces are improved and circulation routes are adapted. Damaged roof elements are also restored, the lighting system is renewed and the annex building is upgraded to comply with fire safety regulations.
The proposal includes a lightweight walkway as a second evacuation route, designed to minimise its visual impact. Overall, the intervention updates the building’s performance as a public facility while preserving the architectural and heritage identity of Casa Golferichs.
