MAMMUTHUS Digital Planetarium in La Canonge

2024

La Canonge, Tarragona

“Indoor Planetarium” is a cultural facility located in the exterior gardens of Mas de l’Hort de l’Abeurador, which can function as an annex to the current “Mammuthus” museum, and which accompanies it in the tourist offer of the territory. Its composition and play of volumes mimics the existing walls, adapting to its immediate surroundings. The project leans against the wall, and opens onto the existing path, resulting in a public entrance space to dignify its access. The resulting architectural proposal integrates into the landscape and directs the viewer towards the “Mammuthus” Museum, thus reinforcing the idea of a route presented by the museum project of the interpretation center of the prehistoric site of Barranc de la Boella.
