The project involves the interior refurbishment of the existing CAP Besòs primary healthcare centre and its extension on the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of a new public facilities building currently under construction. The two buildings are connected by an enclosed, climate-controlled and accessible bridge walkway, allowing the new healthcare areas to be fully integrated into the centre’s operation.
Within the existing building, several areas are redistributed to improve the internal functioning of the facility: waiting areas are enlarged, support spaces, storage rooms, changing rooms and waste management areas are reorganised, and the administrative offices are relocated to the new building. The staircase and lift are also adapted to ensure accessible connection to the roof level and to the extension.
The new CAP area includes paediatric consultation rooms, an emergency box, a social work consultation room, a health education room and the necessary waiting areas. Circulation routes are kept separate from the other uses of the public facilities building, ensuring a clear, safe and independent operation.
